The graveyard in Glendalough is one of the most important in Ireland.  Its origin goes back to the early days of Irish christian monasticism in the seventh century when the monastery of Glendalough was founded by St. Kevin.  The trees and grass in this etching have been colored green so the gravestones can be clearly seen.
